b2ap3_thumbnail_Remote-Starter-Why-Install-It-In-Your-Car.png

In Crystal City, having a remote starter is a lifesaver.  St. Louis weather changes quickly and hits all of the extremes, from winter chill like today to the hottest summer days.  You really shouldn't just get right into a freezing or boiling car without some sort of warmup, and a remote starter from Phine Designs can help you drive in comfort. We install many brands at different price points, and we can find the exact right remote starter for your car today.  Here are a few reasons why you should install a remote starter in your car.

Comfort

The biggest benefit of a remote starter is the comfort of having a car that is warm or cool before you get in. By leaving the heater or air conditioning in the "On" position, a driver can activate the remote starter then wait several minutes, during which time the climate control runs. Because the car is operating without the keys in the ignition or the driver present, most remote starters also include controls for locking the doors to secure the car remotely.

 Safety

There is also a safety benefit to having a remote starter. By allowing an icy car to warm up before driving, it is easier to scrape or defrost the windows, resulting in greater visibility for the driver. Warming the car also melts snow and ice that can obstruct the headlights or brake lights, making your car more visible to other drivers, especially in snowy conditions.

Engine Care

Warming the car, before driving, is also beneficial for the engine. For the car's climate control system to start producing warm air, the engine must first warm up as it runs. Because the car idles for several minutes before being driven, the engine oil becomes more viscous and provides better lubrication once the driver is ready to go. This warm up period is especially beneficial for cars or trucks with diesel engines, but gas engines also benefit from this feature.

Resale Value

A remote starter also increases the resale value of your car, especially if you live in an area with extreme climate conditions. While it may not be as important as the car's overall condition or mileage, it can still be a useful selling point or a reason to demand more value for a trade-in at a dealership.

b2ap3_thumbnail_How_Dark_Can_Window_Tinting_Be_in_Missouri.png

Automotive window tint is a great choice for style and security for vehicle owners all across the country. Before you make your final choice about what window tint you want to install, consider the window tint laws from the Department of Motor Vehicles in your home state.

Noncompliance with state law for window tinting is sufficient cause for a traffic stop, and can result in a non-moving traffic violation. At Phine Designs, we want every customer to be safe and legal on the road. We are here to give you all the facts you need to make the best choices for Automotive Window Tint in the state of Missouri.

How dark can window tint be in Missouri?

  • Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line.
  • Front Side Windows: Must allow in more than 35% of light.
  • Back Side Windows: Any darkness can be used.
  • Rear Window: Any darkness can be used.

How reflective can window tint be in Missouri?

  • Front Side Windows: Must not be more than 35% reflective.
  • Back Side Windows: Must not be more than 35% reflective.

Other Missouri Window Tint Regulations:

  • Restricted Colors: No colors of window tint are explicitly banned.
  • Side Mirrors: Dual side mirrors are required if the back window is tinted.
  • Certificate Requirements: Manufacturers of film do NOT need to certify the film they sell in the state.
  • Sticker Requirements: No sticker is required to identify legal tinting.
  • Medical Exemption: State allows medical exemptions for special tint. For more details on specific terms of the exemption, consult the state law.

These recommendations are specific to the laws and regulations in the state of Missouri. For automotive window tint laws for other states, visit www.tintlaws.com.

b2ap3_thumbnail_Window_Tinting_Crystal_City.png

Window tinting typically refers to a process in which a transparent sheet of film is applied to the inside of a vehicle's windows. The main purpose of this process is to reduce the amount of heat and radiation from the sun that reaches the interior of the vehicle, but many folks just tint their windows because they think it looks cool. The thickness of the film and the material from which it is made can vary, and different states have different restrictions regarding the darkness of the film that may be used.

One of the main practical benefits of window tinting is the ability to prevent fading and damage to car's interior from ultraviolet light exposure. Tinting can also help to keep the interior of a vehicle cool as well as reduce the glare produced by the headlights of other vehicles. In addition, deep tinting can enhance security and privacy as others cannot see what is in a vehicle as easily. Not only is it more difficult to see possessions inside a vehicle, but tinting also makes it easier to conceal occupants inside a vehicle. This is why window tinting is used commonly in limousines. However, if it is too dark, tinting can be dangerous when driving at night because it may reduce visible light transmission through vehicle windows. Because of safety concerns, the darkness of tinting on front windows, as opposed to tinting on back windows, is subject to regulation by state, and each state mandates its own restrictions regarding the matter.
